Verge Sport acquires Sommerville Sports
We are proud to announce that we reaching new heights through the acquisition of our Brooklyn based company, Sommerville Sports by Verge Sport.
The switch-over will take place Nov 1, 2015.
“It’s a strategic alliance.”, explains Sommerville Sports founder David Sommerville “After building our brand over the last decade here in Brooklyn, all of us at Sommerville Sports are delighted to join forces with Verge in order to provide the world’s best bicycle clothing, latest technology and service.”
David also adds “We will implement new technologies such as online ordering and design followed by speedy turnarounds, top notch quality with hyper- competitive budgeting and truly great customer service.”
Verge Sport Founder Mike Magur adds, “David is the perfect choice to be our new Director of Custom nationally and to serve as Director of Technology globally. Verge is now increasing the speed and precision with which we serve all our customers. Forget all the old methods for getting custom bicycle clothes because the market and the world have changed and we are on the forefront.”
Jed Kornbluh, will become National Sales Manager at Verge, overseeing the management of existing accounts, develop new sales channels, work with and develop new sales reps.
Verge is looking global while merging and growing locally.
Sommerville Sports current office in Brooklyn and Verge Sport office in Newburgh, New York continue to include direct sales and online customer support from expert both company’s expert staff.

All current Sommerville Sports staff will be retained and join the Verge Sports family, so everyone you are used to working with will still be at our Brooklyn office or out in the field to help with your custom clothing orders.
You and your team mates will now have access to a greatly-expanded product line, with a number of new styles, patterns and cuts, and many higher-end fabrics via our European factory.
Rest assured, you will still have access to our PRO line, and Verge America is rolling out a ton of new technology, products, and customer service enhancements in the next few weeks and we're really excited about what lay ahead.
